Leviticus 11 will give you the information on pork which I assume you already know.
1 Corinthians is quite an interesting chapter dealing with sex. In fact, just scanning it now has taught me a few more things about Christianity and sex I was unaware of before...
1. Christians should remain celibate for life unless they are tempted by sex - then marriage is appropriate.
2. Women sin when they pray with their head unveiled.
3. Women cannot speak in church. Nor can they teach or assume any social position which is superior to men.
And I found more...
1. If a man marries a woman and learns she wasn't a virgin, she is to be put to death. Deut. 22.21
2. Homosexuals must be killed "their blood is upon them." Lev. 20.13
3. Couples who have sex during menstruation are to be banned from society ("cut off from their people.")
----------
The actual point of this is if you expect someone who is homosexual to accept that they are sinful and lead the righteous path you take then you should consider all sex-related commandments in the Bible. I find that many Christians like yourself only want to take the words of the Bible literally up to a certain point where it becomes uncomfortable.
If I am supposed to feel remorse for my sexual behavior, then why shouldn't any Christian woman feel shameful for praying with their head uncovered or speaking? I'm not accusing you or anyone of doing this purposefully, but I feel that there is a heterosexist bias behind this contradiction. If you are a woman, I hope you would take some time to look back in history when there was a time when you would not have been allowed to post such a message on this forum because your sex was kept inferior and submissive, and then consider whether or not you really want to keep an ultra-conservative view when it comes to your religion.
