Some interesting comments on OT Law. Kynes pretty much explained it, but I will add a little about the issues about celibacy and the veil.
The celibacy issue Paul wrote about was not a commandment, but a suggestion. He goes on to write that celibacy is a gift. The reason he suggests celibacy is because one can focus more on the Lord's work. This is not to say that those who are married should feel guilt, but it is more difficult.(I know this from personal experience!)
The reference to women wearing veils and not being allowed to speak are related to that era in which Paul was writing. It was a custom of the time, not a commandment. The issue of not being allowed to speak was specifically addressed to the Church of Corinth, who Paul was writing to. Bible scholars who have studied this in depth have said there was a difficulty in the church where women were disturbing the services by talking during inappropriate times to others in the congregation, not the leaders. In case you want to see more on this subject, I recommend: www.kencollins.com
Also, a quick note about the OT law. Christians live by faith in Jesus. Before Jesus, sacrifice was the only way to atone sins. Why? That is a tough question, and one that only God could answer. The Bible gives us an understanding of God's order, or way of doing things, but it doesn't reveal EVERYTHING about Him. Pray about it, and He may answer you. I do know that the laws were symbolic, and their ideas are carried into the Christian faith. Jesus fulfilled the sacrifice, but there are still Biblical principles found in the OT that Christians live by.

: "The essential problem with OT Law is that it couldn't be fulfilled by humans." So what you mean is that God created a Law which was immpossible to fulfill, no matter what a person did it would be immpossible to ever get into heaven unless they went and sacrificed an animal and lit it on fire. How nice. Anyways, on to the problem at hand.

: Law. You try and say that as time passes the word of God changes and that the Laws of the land are to be looked at before the word of God. At least that is what I am gathering from your quotes. You say that if the Law of the land conflicts with the Laws of the Bible then you must not conflict with either and do neither. So if it suddenly became illegal for a man to have sex with a woman and all that was allowed was homosexual sex then we must be celibate for all time, or at least until the human race dies out. That was what i gathered from what you said, but I do not believe that God wanted us to die out like you said.

: He spent all of this time to make and create us so do you think that he would want us to all die and go to hell if a law suddenly said so? No. I don't think so. Why would we all go to hell? Because we allowed ourselves to die. We commited suicide which is strickly forbidden. Even if it was indirectly, we killed the planet which would make us murderers which would send us to Hell for all eternity.

: So what we would have to do is break the law in favor of Gods Law. But, if we did that then we would be beaking Gods Law and we would still go to Hell.

: What this means is that while in either case one would go to Hell, neither case is right.
