: First of, as many of you know. I am gay. So the bias concervative argument on my views are pretty far fetched. I hold myself to some really high morales and respect the law of the land greatly.

: All that aside, the stories in the bible that are in question are just those. Stories.
: It is not fair to second guess every intimate friendship in the bible and blame it on mis-translation. I saw the mis-translation in Leviticus. I saw the hebrew meaning refrence idoltry.

>>Second guessing doesn't do too much harm when you don't state it as fact.

: To answer the man being of a virgin woman is this. Celibacy is a gift. Celibacy is being asexual, or no sexual prefrence or want at all. Believe it or not, there are a rare few that walk this planet with no sex drive - either way.
: It never talked about Jesus and intamacy. I don't think Jesus had sex or even masturbated.

>>Just because it wasn't recorded as Jesus not doing these things doesn't mean he didn't. You seem to be suggesting that any kind of sex is evil, a sin. Even masturbation. hmm. I suppose the purpose of the gospels weren't to delve into everything he did, especially sex. Obviously with years of his life unrecorded - who knows what he did. Isn't just as second guessing he didn't touch physically?

>>I don't find your view wrong. I just have a different one. You just come at it at an antesptic Jesus, and I don't mind if he was or wasn't - doesn't take away anything He was about or did.

: Jesus was perfect. He held no lust, want or need for a physical relationship. He knew his life would end the way it did. He did not want it to end. He begged God and pleaded for his life. But God said it had to be. It was the only way and Jesus gave his life down peacefully.

>>Can one be perfect and beg and plead - basically doubting God? If he didn't feel any need for a physical relationship, then how could he have been fully human and be "tempted in every way" (where is that verse when I need it.) Seems you're suggesting this God/Man that didn't have too many emotions, was on a mission, and wasn't "one of us".
: I feel that sex was not made to create Jesus. Therefore Jesus had no need for it. Jesus came as an ambasador of God for mankind to follow in example.

:
: But there are phrases in the Bible that do need a deeper look, however I think that the real answer lies within contextual comprehention and wisdom not to make things more than what they really are.

>>We can only contexualize within the written words that we have, but interpretations are varied as to what they seem to indicate. Everyone comes from a different place in their mind and approach it from who they are, so it's tough to get one agreed upon answer. But maybe there doesn't have to be just one. I guess the important one is your own.
:
: But they are interesting ideas.
