Indianapolis is poised for growth and leadership in the midwest. While a world class city, we have significant room for growth, and citizens who can get us there. I am running for city-council in District 9 as an Independent to represent Progressives, and the interests of citizens, not parties, religion, or big business. Based on the current challenges we face as a city, I am focusing my campaign on four issues: community development, civil rights, education and redistricting.

About Me

I teach sociology at Butler University, IUPUI and Marian University. My primary research interests are social inequality, poverty, social movements, and sexuality. My interest in politics is the result of a growing concern about the concentration of wealth for a small segment of the population and a stagnation or decline of real wages for 60% of workers. These changes are rooted not in natural economic cycles, but in targeted policies. A healthy society requires a balance of community and business develoment. The last 30 years of neoliberal policy has shifted us out of balance in favor of transnational corporations and the bipartisan political system.
